Claire Pech – Careers Advisor

Welcome back to a busy and fun term ahead at Emanuel School, especially in the Careers arena!

A few notices that will help all students and parents stay organised for the term:

Year 10 
This is a busy term for all students in Year 10, as we formally begin the Careers program that then leads into subject selections:

• Week 3 – we have Career Avenues visiting the School to run a range of tests (quizzes/assessments) for our career profiling program. This is now our 6th year running this program and it leads perfectly into the start of our career conversations. I must stress these ‘tests’ are nothing to study or prep for, but are used to start conversations and as a guide only.
• Week 9 – Career Avenues Debrief Sessions take place. These are run over Zoom and parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. It is a 30 minute Zoom session with a Careers Avenues Advisor. Times are allocated in advance and details will be shared later in the term.

Year 11
All Year 11s (along with all Year Groups) are welcome to book in a time with me to discuss any career plans, needs, subject decisions and anything to do with careers. My calendar is now live and students are encouraged to see me at a time that works for them during a study session. Bookings are to be made for the following week. 

Year 12
I will be running our guest speaker program for Year 12, beginning in Week A, to discuss everything to do with applications.

As always, I like to pass on common resources that I use all the time for students to start searching, browsing and discussing anything to do with careers.
