Year 6 Leadership

Year 6 – Leadership Experience 2018

Last Thursday, Year 6 began their Leadership Experience at Allsorts with a buzz of excitement. We started by creating the Leadership Tree and discussed what it meant to be a leader. This session consisted of learning about a 1st follower and showing different videos about being a leader.

We then went over to the indoor sports centre to be involved in a range of activities such as bubble soccer, hockey, wheelchair basketball and an obstacle course.

Just before lunch the High School madrichim came in. They helped us with some of our leadership activities. Afterwards, we returned to school where we had a sausage sizzle and watched a movie called Remember the Titans. This movie was about 2 different races working together to achieve an end goal, which was to win the football season and to get through the football camp. They went through dramatic changes to achieve this goal.

On Friday, we stayed at school in the Angles Leadership and Learning Centre. The activities we did consisted of thinking about the Seven Habits. We also did some activities involving Mindfulness with Kim, the School Counsellor. To sum up these 2 days, we learnt many qualities that a leader needs to have and this Leadership Experience was a great way to start our year. We look forward to working in our leadership roles this year.
